Formerly a Church of Scotland manse, Tigh Cilmartin was designed by Thomas Telford and built in 1828. Lovingly renovated in 2008 by the Walker family, the house is a category ‘B’ listed building and has maintained many of its original features, including sash and casement windows, working shutters, wood panelled walls and open fireplaces. Dry stone walls surround the house, which stands on the banks of the River Kilmartin, benefiting from spectacular views of the Quiraing Pinnacles.

Extra care has been taken to ensure that guests will be comfortable whatever the weather, including a cosy wood burning stove with a plentiful supply of logs, central heating, a good supply of books and DVD's and for when the sun is shining, a BBQ to enjoy in the grounds of the holiday cottage.

Ideally located for exploring the Trotternish Peninsula and its famous geological sights, such as the Quirang, Kilt Rock and the Old Man of Storr, the crofting hamlet of Staffin is only 15 miles from Portree and 16 miles from the ferry port of Uig – gateway to the Outer Hebrides. Ideal for a perfect getaway, Tigh Cilmartin provides a luxury self catering cottage for those wanting a relaxing break.

Winter Short Breaks

As with many holiday cottages on the Isle of Skye, our holiday cottage offers short breaks which are available for 3 nights (Friday to Monday), or for 4 nights (Monday to Friday), from 5th November 2011 until 24th March 2012.
